Independent Expenditure Director

Description overview: The Minnesota House DFL is seeking a committed individual to retake the majority in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2026. The job of the Independent Expenditure (IE) Director will include working with House DFL Leadership on all aspects of strategic campaign planning, IE budget, communications, and vendors. 

Independent Expenditure Director job responsibilities include:

  • Oversees all independent expenditure operations for the Minnesota House DFL.

  • Creates and manages an IE budget and plan for 2026.

  • Represents the campaign at IE table meetings. Must work with the various stakeholders and other campaign operations to achieve caucus goals.

  • Manages day-to-day operations, including hiring vendors and maintaining vendor relationships, leadership staff, and appointed member team.

  • Works with House DFL Leadership to develop and implement strategies for communication across a wide variety of districts.

  • Lead and coordinate research operations, message testing, and polling.

  • Regularly report to the House Caucus Executive Director

Qualifications:

An ideal candidate will have at least three cycles of campaign experience, including experience managing robust paid communications and consultant teams. Candidates must be able to manage detailed campaign operations as well as demonstrate superb discretion and political savvy. House Caucus staff are expected to be team players with an outstanding work ethic and must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.

Salary: $95,000-$105,000 per year, depending on experience
