Finance Intern

Overview:
The Minnesota House DFL Campaign is currently seeking a Finance Intern for the 2025 fall session (September to December) who is interested in contributing to a fast-paced political fundraising department and helping House DFLers win back a majority in the MN House of Representatives. Interns will learn essential fundraising and data management skills that, upon completion of their internship, will have them prepared to land a full-time job in a political fundraising operation as a finance assistant and/or call time manager. Interns will learn to conduct finance research, manage call time, process contributions, prepare and send blast email communications, assist in planning events, and many other essential skills. We are currently working from the office and require that all staff be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The Minnesota House DFL Campaign is looking to expand our team with a hard-working and passionate individual who believes in making Minnesota a better place for all. This position will work in the House DFL Campaign Finance Department, with frequent interaction with DFL House Members.


Job duties include: 

  • Processing contributions

  • Helping plan and execute events

  • Designing invitation graphics for fundraising events

  • Researching past contributors, potential contributors, and other research as assigned

  • Data entry

  • Assisting staff with call time management

  • Assisting with general campaign work

  • Other tasks as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects

  • Commitment to progressive values and winning back a DFL majority in the Minnesota House

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience working in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.)

  • Experience using Canva, or a similar program, and a strong eye for design and visual presentation

Compensation: Interns will be paid $15/hour and may also receive academic credit from their school. The internship will run from September to December. Hours are flexible and will be arranged in coordination with House DFL staff and the intern’s schedule, with an intern expected to work 15-20 hours per week.
