What is Plant Hope?
Plant Hope is a partnership between Let’s Plant Trees and the DFL campaign for the Minnesota House (DFL House caucus) to honor Melissa and Mark Hortman.
In the aftermath of their deaths, their children shared inspiration, “The best way to honor our parent’s memory is to do something, whether big or small, to make our community just a little better for someone else.”
Let’s Plant Trees is an established Minnesota-native tree reforestation organization that distributes seedlings to combat climate change. They are graciously partnering on this effort to honor Melissa and Mark by planting trees.
Your Donation Can Make a Difference!
Plant Hope’s goal is to plant 50,000 trees in honor of the Hortmans. These trees will take root, bloom and grow. And long after we’re all gone, they will still be here providing oxygen, shade, and life. Donations support this effort and also will help to fund the DFL House caucus campaign in 2026, supporting candidates for the State House where Melissa served as Speaker.
